This pressed bouquet picture was brought to me by a couple who'd got married in 1984. They had recently moved house, and, unfortunately, before they'd had time to get pictures up on walls - they had a flood! The bouquet picture suffered water damage, although not obvious from the photo below, there was a large watermark on the backing material. My job was to try and restore the fragile 18 year old flowers onto new backing material. Quite a challenge! as the original picture was not my own work, but that of another pressed flower artist.

The restoration involved photographing the original picture, removing the flowers from their old backing material, removing any moisture from them and then reassembling them on their new backing material as near as possible to the shape of the original picture. NOTE: The flowers had faded considerably over the years, but the customer was quite happy with this 'antique' effect. HOWEVER, the colours of faded bouquet pictures CAN also be restored, using subtle colour enhancing techniques.
