The Flower Press was set up by me Gillian Harvey in 1990 (thats me pictured with my Colourpoint Persian, Ben), initially pressing garden and wild flowers to make pictures for friends and for my own enjoyment. Then a friend asked me to press her daughter's wedding bouquet.

So I researched the special pressing techniques for wedding flowers, and began pressing wedding bouquets, as well as funeral and other occasion flowers, fitting in around my other great love - my 12 cats! 9 of which are gorgeous Persians.

I use modern pressing equipment from Japan, the US and Australia, which helps to dry the flowers and foliage quickly, retaining the beautiful colours. I am a member of several pressed flowers guilds and societies, LINKS to these guilds and societies can be found on my LINKS page. When I receive the bouquet, it is photographed, dismantled, and then pressed.

Pressing takes around 2 weeks. I will then contact you to discuss design and layout details. Your bouquet can be displayed in its original shape, of if you prefer, your flowers can be used to make a framed collage. You don't even have to have the whole bouquet pressed, a few flowers selected from the bouquet and displayed in a frame can look quite stunning.

CARE OF FLOWERS AFTER WEDDING The flowers should be kept cool and dry. They can be placed in a fridge if you have room, BUT if you keep your fridge very cold remember to turn the dial to a warmer temperature to ensure they don't get too cold.

If delivering the flowers personally they can be transported in the original box from the florist. If sending the flowers by POST OFFICE SPECIAL DELIVERY service, which guarantees next day delivery before 1pm, please call first to ensure I am here to receive your flowers.
